Opened in 1917, the Fremont Bridge is a double-leaf drawbridge or bascule bridge over the Lake Washington Ship Canal connecting the neighborhoods of Fremont and Queen Anne. Due to its low vessel clearance of 30 feet (9.1 m), the Fremont Bridge is one of the most frequently opened drawbridges and the only bridge that voters in 1985 chose the colors of bright blue and orange.
